I’m part of a Mastermind team and we are just wrapping up our mini-retreat in sunny San Diego!
If you’ve read a lot of my stuff, you know how important a team is and joining a Mastermind group of high-level fitness people helped take me to the next level.
Without it, I would’ve had a gym.
To be your best, you have to surround yourself with better people.
One major lesson that stuck out to me as we were going through some business planning and how to overcome challenges was our team motto: Do Better.
At the end of each call, we sign off with those two words.
The thing with our motto is it doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. No one is perfect.
It simply means do your best and keep improving.
For me, I was talking with my coach recently and I wasn’t going to put up decorations for the holidays. He gave me a long speech on how I have to do it because that’s not “doing better.” And when you let one detail slip, people might not notice but if you allow that mindset to set in, that’s where you are not “doing better.”
So I put up the decorations (well a staff member did!) and it looked great!
So, where can you “do better”?
Maybe you can do better with your exercise.
Maybe you can do better with your nutrition.
Maybe you can do better with your sleep.
Maybe you can do better with your leadership.
Maybe you can do better with your communication skills.
Those things can’t be fixed overnight but if you’re always seeking improvement, you live by the Do Better motto.
Pick one area of your life and focus on doing better. What is one action you can take in that area?
I’d love to hear from you and help you get there!
Have a great week!
