Success is NOT Linear

We are creatures of habit. We thrive on routine.

However, not everything goes to plan. There are setbacks. It’s how you react to those setbacks that dictate how successful you are.

If success was a straight ascending line, everyone would make it happen. There are ebbs and flows though.

Working on your health and you’re cruising along and crushing your goals. Then, your kid gets sick, you get sick, you have a couple of bad days and you feel defeated. You can either keep going down that path or you can get back on the right track.

I see this all of the time and have to remind myself of it as well.

The people that are most successful are the most consistent. They show up on days when they aren’t 100%. When things don’t go according to plan, they forge a new path. They don’t let a bad day turn into two bad days.

So you have a choice? Forge forward or stop. What’s it going to be?

One last thing:

If you lost 40 pounds and changed your habits in a six-month period and then you have a month where you gain 10 pounds and life doesn’t go your way, are you a failure?

Absolutely not! In the long game, you are 30 pounds down, know you can accomplish anything, and just need to get back on track.

It’s important to remind yourself you’re never a finished product and reflect on the bigger picture.

Have a great day!
